HOW DO I MEASURE? (for a traditional iron, brass or wooden bedstead)
With your bed assembled, the width is measured from the outside of one side rail, across to the outside of the other side rail. The length is measured from the inside of the headboard post to the inside of the footboard post. On some wooden beds, such as sleigh-beds, the frame will have a recess for the base to fit into. You will need to measure the inside of this recess to obtain both the width and the length.
A QUICK PRICE GUIDE FOR ODD SIZE MATTRESSES OR ODD SIZE BED BASES If your width and/or length is smaller than a standard size, add 10% to that price. If you width and/or length is greater than a standard size, then go to the next size up and use that price. N.B. – If your measurements are only slightly non-standard, then the price increase may be minimal, if at all.

CUT OUT CORNERS – PLEASE ADD 10%
These occur mainly with four-posters and half-testers.
ROUNDED BOTTOMS – PLEASE ADD 10%
These occur mainly with Continental beds, mainly French and Italian, where the footboard is curved.
